She doesn’t look at you. She doesn’t have to. In profile, chin level and eyes lowered, she wears a towering afro painted in sweeping strokes of deep red, burnt orange and gold. Behind her, a kaleidoscopic pattern in earthy browns, olive and ruby diamonds frames her like a tapestry.

Woo was inspired by the spirit of Rihanna’s ANTI era: anti-b.s., anti-excuses, all confidence. It’s a portrait of a woman who is completely at ease with her own power.
