She’s got the crown, the curls, and the grin to prove it. Queen Things No. 6 is a joyful, full-faced portrait of a woman in a sketched, jagged-line crown. It rests on top of three puffs, above twisted, ornately patterned curls. A rich magenta wrap frames her, and behind her a kaleidoscopic pattern in dusty rose and deep plum is punctuated by bright red triangles.

On metal, the piece takes on a different life. The image is printed directly into a [aluminum] surface, so the magenta, plum, and red read deeper and more luminous, and the painterly texture in her face and the detailing in each curl come through crisp. The finish is sleek and modern, and it contrasts nicely with the handmade feel of the artwork.
