brooklynmuseum:

Brooklyn Museum is thrilled to be working with Art Market Productions as they launch an excitingnew fair, art on paper, at downtown Manhattan’s Pier 36, March 5-8. Art Market is known for its unique and award-winning art fairs around the country, and now this Brooklyn-based company is introducing a completely new type of fair here on its home turf.

We are beyond excited about this Brooklyn-born partnership. All proceeds from the opening-night VIP party (Thursday, March 5 from 5:30-8 pm) will benefit the Museum and its school programs, which serve approximately 40,000 children annually (many living below the poverty line) with stellar-quality, low-cost access to arts education. This is a fabulous way to support the Museum and we encourage the entire community to join us—for an opportunity to previews works by Museum creative partner and collaborator SWOON and many others before anyone else! We’ll be joined that night by other Brooklyn-based friends, with Live Footage  providing the soundtrack and Morris Sandwich Company on food and drink.

We’ll be spotlighting some of the outstanding presentations and artists featured at art on paper across our social media—stay tuned, and New Yorkers, plan to attend in person! In addition to 60 exhibiting galleries from all over the world, art on paper will include a number of site-specific, monumental installations all while offering our community a new way to engage with works by artists who look to paper as a major influence in their sculpture, drawing, painting and photography.

Because we love our Members, all of them will receive complimentary passes to the fair. Tickets to the fair including the VIP party are on sale here. And, all ticketholders will receive complimentary admission to the Museum through the duration of the fair so let’s make a weekend of it!
